With a bone-chilling cold snap assaulting the east coast of Australia, not even the threat of volcanic ash could stop our our dedicated and determined Travel Team from setting off for the tropical climate and sun-drenched beaches of beautiful Bali!

Our destination this time was the gorgeous beachside paradise of Nusa Dua, home to the Courtyard by Marriott Bali Nusa Dua – an inviting accommodation establishment that serves as a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of Seminyak and Kuta.

The Destination

Situated on Bali’s stunning southern coast, the Nusa Dua peninsular presents travellers with an irresistible blend of sand, sun, surf and sheer serenity. Comprised of a secure gated resort compound just over 10 kilometres from Bali’s international airport in Denpasar, Nusa Dua is the ideal getaway spot for travellers seeking a relaxing Balinese holiday.

Gardens adorned with flourishing bushels and swaying palms fan out towards a dazzling coastline speckled with golden sand and clear blue water – perfect for beach-lovers!

Nusa Dua also offers a great selection of dining, entertainment and shopping options with the nearby Bali Collection complex within easy reach.

The Resort

A hidden tropical oasis for all types of guests, the Courtyard by Marriott Bali Nusa Dua features approximately 250 resort rooms that showcase clean design lines and offer the creature comforts of home.

The front of the resort is comprised of a huge circular driveway that slopes upwards to a series of pavilions that lead to the lobby – an aesthetically appealing space that blends modern design with traditional Balinese style and indoor-outdoor areas. Plenty of natural light filters in from the adjoining agora area, bracketed by tranquil water features and swaying trees.

With absolutely no fuss and the help of some exceptionally friendly staff members, we were checked-in and heading to our rooms in no time at all.

The Rooms

Awash in calming shades of white, cream and aqua tones with a smattering of tawny timber furnishings, our Deluxe Room was cosy and well-appointed with a plush king bed (twin bedding also available).

Courtyard 9 (Copy)We particularly loved the ensuite bathroom replete with romantic rain-shower, as well as the large picture window which ensured the room was always beautifully lit with the warming glow of the Balinese sun.

Other features included a handy work desk and a huge flat-screen TV (not that guests will be spending too much time indoors with the glorious tropical weather on display outside!).

The food available on-site is sure to please all palates. We thoroughly enjoyed waking up to a daily breakfast of international and local favourites at the MoMo Cafe.

As part of our stay, we were also lucky enough to be treated to two spectacular dinners – a mouth-watering multi-course ‘Taste of Bali’ dining experience, and a satisfying ‘Seaside Dinner’ at the resort’s private beach club. Speaking of which…

The resort is just a few minutes’ drive from the golden shores of Nusa Dua Beach and offers a convenient ‘any time’ daily shuttle service for guests to enjoy.

Once arriving at the beach, Courtyard patrons can enjoy exclusive access to the resort’s very own private beach club – a charming tiki-style venue that dispenses technicoloured cocktails and frosty beers amid a sea of sun-loungers and comfy beach sofas.

Guests can even hire a surfboard and hit the waves at your leisure.

Other facilities you’ll find back on-site at the resort include a breathtaking central swimming pool at the heart of the property. Turquoise waters bob around a central island and bar while leafy trees gently bend with the breeze – exuding a tropical oasis vibe.

As a bonus, we enjoyed a refreshing round of tropical cocktails at the pool bar – toasting to another picture-perfect day in paradise!

For those looking to work off those rich holiday meals, the resort also boasts its very own fully-equipped gym… FYI we were not among ‘those people’ but the workout gear looked very impressive!

A kids club and handy business centre round out the on-site facilities nicely.

The resort’s in-house Courtyard Spa is the place to go for sheer pampering and indulgence. The spa offers an array of soothing spa treatments such as body scrubs, facials, couples’ massages and much more to leave you feeling utterly relaxed.

Aside from the retail delights of Bali Collection, the engaging Bali Nusa Dua Theatre is also nearby – where the incredible Devdan Cultural Show takes centre stage and leave audiences spellbound with a mix of traditional song, dance and flair.

For those guests indulging in an upgrade, you’ll experience an evening out at the incredible newly opened Double Six Resort Rooftop in Seminyak. Leave the kids with the baby-sitter at Courtyard and relax in style with private return transfers between the resorts and a mouth-watering six-course sunset tapas feast.

See the shores of Double six Beach come to life from a birds eye view vantage point.

TripAdvisor Reviews:

Five out of five stars – 15 July 2015

“Stayed here from 4th July till 12th July 2015. What a lovely clean hotel. Rooms were a good size and the bathroom was great. Loved the large showers especially the big shower heads. Breakfast at Momo’s was fantastic. Lots of choice and very yummy. Also the food at dinner was also of good value and taste. The service from the staff was very good. They were all very friendly and helpful especially Mark at the front and the girl at the pool bar. I can highly recommend this hotel and hopefully I get to stay again. Good location. Shops and restaurants within very close walking distance and The Bali Collection just 1km away. Easy walking distance. Thanks to everyone there for a great holiday.”

“This was the first time we have stayed in Nusa Dua. This is a GREAT Hotel if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of Bali for a few days. Located in a secure compound, this Hotel offers a great place just to RELAX and get away. Fantastic for kids, the pool is amazing and rooms spacious. Staff are exceptional and it also has a private beach close by. Will definitely stay at The Courtyard Marriott again.”
