Welcome to the Cudo Travel Blog, where you can read first hand reports from our expert team of travel consultants, jam-packed with photos and real accounts. The blog has been prepared by travel experts who have visited the hotel.
When the duties of investigative journalism call, the Cudo Travel team are ready. With expert efficiency, we packed our bags full of holiday essentials (thongs, bathers, Sudoku etc) and off we were to the land of laid back charm. There’s a reason why Byron Bay’s reputation as an incredible destination extends far beyond Australia. To bring our readers a first hand account of what makes this slice of the world so unique, we set out on spectacular three night getaway to the Oasis Apartments and Tree Top Houses Resort Byron where we compiled list after list of attractive qualities.
Here are some of our favourite points: stunning coastline, brilliant beaches, protected national parks, gorgeous hinterland, organic markets, delicious produce, wellness movement, fabulous arts and music scene, alternative vibe, heaps of charm, mountains biking, whale watching, surfing, kayaking, skydiving, fishing, hot ballooning and snorkelling.
From this, three distinct categories emerged – natural beauty, activities and culture – each converging with one another in equal parts to create one all encompassing lifestyle and holiday destination.
The Oasis Apartments and Tree Top Houses Resort is the perfect base for holiday goers to experience the charm of Byron. That being said, the resort is a destination in itself! Set on a stunning six acres of natural bushland bordering the Arakwal National Park, guests can enjoy a range of top-notch facilities as well as comfortable and spacious accommodation.
Right from the get go, the luscious greens of the surrounding tropical gardens, the balmy breeze and incredible welcome launched us straight into a relaxed holiday mode.
Stylish Holiday Living
While we may have been content sharing overcrowded and tiny spaces during our backpacking years, we can now safely say that our pallets have matured. As such, we were enamored by the stylish and spacious holiday accommodation at the Oasis.
We cannot speak highly enough of the luxurious and inviting two bedroom apartments. We were a large enough group to merit two units and both were perfect. We loved the decor which ranged from flowing summery pastels to soft nautical blues.
Equipped with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen, spacious lounge room and gorgeous private balcony, up to five lucky guest can enjoy an incredible holiday in one space.
The combination of the sleek interior and the stunning outdoor greenery (as seen through several vantage points), combines to create one enviable environment!
In the theme of spacious living, our outdoor balcony was a favourite spot. Not many things are a better fit than al fresco dining, a nice glass of wine and the sound of crashing waves.
In true resort style, the Oasis apartments offers an incredible array of facilities with a range of activities that will interest guests of all ages.
Keeping active (if you so desire) is made easy with a floodlit tennis court (racquets and balls available at reception!), a fully equipped gym, heated pool and more
In addition to the stunning pool we enjoyed many guilt-free sessions in the outdoor spa and sauna (we say guilt free because it normally occurred after having entertained the kids in the children’s wading pool and/or under 7’s play area).
For a little laid back entertainment, we enjoyed the poolside BBQs – the kitchenette and undercover dining meant it was the ideal spot for kicking back after an exhilarating day in paradise.
Tallows beach will ‘wow’ even the most seasoned beach goers. It boasts stunning white sand and turquoise water while offering up a peaceful alternative to the bustle of Byron’s main beach.
A pleasant 400 metre walk from the resort will take you straight to its sandy shores. It should be noted that the walk itself is stunning – the path weaves you through the gorgeous Arakwal National Park where the protected bushland and vegetation have been free to flourish in all their unspoiled glory!
Hire a surf board and boogie board from the Oasis and get in the water!
Out and About
The beauty of the Oasis resort is that it is located in a serene pocket of tranquility while also enjoying an extremely close proximity to the Byron Bay town centre.
An quick 2 kilometre drive (or leisurely 20 minute stroll) will find you right in the town centre where suddenly your tropical paradise now has the added layer of cafes, boutique shops, a heap of restaurant and a truly palpably vibrant and laid back charm.
Take the Byron Beach Cafe for example, it offers a breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean, amazing food (locally-sourced ingredients when possible) and smiling five-star service – embodying many of the things we loved about Byron!
The Byron Bay Brewery should be a mandatory stop on any travelers list. After an informative and extremely entertaining brewery tour (thanks Scott!), we learned everything there is to know about what it takes to craft incredible award-wining brews (less a few trade secrets of course).
With a complimentary schooner for every tour participant, choosing from one of the six beers was not an easy decision. A few coins were flipped and our faiths were sealed with Byron Bay Red Belly, Premium Ale and Pilsner.
The inviting and quirky environment of the brewery made us want to extend the experience as long as possible, with this mind-frame we firmly planted ourselves in the comfortable seats of the on-site restaurant. We believe it was our duties as brew house patrons to sample as many creations as possible (lest we offend the makers) and so we ordered the three remaining beers. As responsible adults, we complimented our drinks with delicious steaks, schnitzels and parma’s (lucky for us, it was 2 for 1!).
Byron Bay is known for fostering and encouraging a balanced and healthy lifestyle. Relax Haven is at the center of the wellness movement as Byron’s pioneering Massage and Spa. From locals to vacationers, the the downtown health spa is where people can drop in anytime in order to relax, rejuvenate and heal.
Relax Haven’s therapists are healers in their own right and will use use all their skills to help you on your quest for balance. Get ready to reap the benefits of the infra-red sauna (to warm the body and deeply detox), the magnesium float tank (to speed recovery), kinesiology treatment (to uncover the causes of perplexing issues), theta healing (to reprogram negative thoughts and patterns), and reiki massage (to support your immunity, healing and positive outlook on life).
In seeking out a balance between relaxation and keeping activities, we signed up for a three hour sea kayaking session with Go Sea Kayak Byron Bay on one of the days and an incredibly productive two hour surf lesson from Lets Go Surfing Byron Bay on another.
Byronites, we thank you for giving us a taste of the goof life! Until next time.
“Byron’s Best Kept Secret”

This truly is Byron Bay’s best kept secret when it comes to accommodation!
The Oasis Apartments & Treetop Houses is a fantastic place to stay! It’s the colours that truly strike me as stunning – the green grasses, the bright treetops, combined with the mahogany buildings – such a beautiful contrast and certainly providing a forest feeling. It has everything you could ever need – it really does. A beautiful looking pool, the gym has a deck outside with a BBQ overlooking the pool area – and around the other side of the building is the games room – which seems to have everything, including stairs leading to a TV room, and a section perfect for under 2’s.(The Oasis Resort & Treetop Houses)
“Perfect Family Holiday”

We stayed for 12 days at the Oasis Resort and found the accommodation very comfortable. The pool, BBQ area, games room and tennis court were great for the kids. Tallow beach was beautiful for long walks, with family surf beaches only a short drive away by car.
We were very well looked after by the managers Lorraine and Phil who do an excellent job of maintaining the resort and made sure our stay was comfortable. (The Oasis Resort & Treetop Houses)
“The Oasis is an Oasis””

We have been holidaying at The Oasis Resort and Treetop Houses every year for 20 years now. We just love this place for our yearly north coast holiday. It has everything you could want in a holiday located right on the doorstep of a National Park; the magnificent pool, the gorgous spa, the amazing gym, a wonderfully located tennis court with visits from green tree frogs and bush turkeys, the new outdoor bbq and lounge area and the bbq facilities. The rooms are always fresh and clean with plenty of room for all. The large balcony with a view over the resort is just the best for breakfast and evening meals and drinks. At night the magic of listening to the ocean crashing at Tallow’s and watching the light from the lighthouse is just so special. The staff are always friendly and helpful, nothing is a problem. We love The Oasis Resort and can’t wait for our next holiday there (The Oasis Resort & Treetop Houses)
